Learning Objectives

  • Digital Surveying

    The course aims to provide students a critical approach to the IT tools for surveying and architectural representation with particular regard to 3D acquisition digital techniques of real objects for a proper documentation of the same.
    The course consists of theory lessons, envisioned to critically understand the avaliable instruments and the areas of applications, and practical exercises addressed to achieve familiarity with the IT tool.

Detailed Course Content

  • Digital Surveying

    The course will address the following topics:

    - Numerical modeling techniques;

    - reality based 3D acquisition techniques: TOF laser scanner , triangulation , structured light : from the acquisition to data processing;

    - Basics of photography;

    - Digital Photogrammetry and image based modeling techniques;

    - From the 3D model to its Interpretation and representation: generation of elevations, sections and orthophotos;

    - Reverse modeling techniques: from the numerical to the mathematical model;

    - BIM for Cultural Heritage: Parametric modeling semantics of Architectural elements

    Furthermore, there will be organized seminars on specifi topics inviting the field Experts .
