Academic Year 2024/2025 - Teacher: Giuseppe PEZZINGAExpected Learning Outcomes
To provide students with the basic knowledge for dealing with civil engineering problems involving still or moving fluids. In particular, problems will be afforded dealing with forces acting on tanks and reservoirs; analysis, design and operation of pressure pipes networks; free surface open channel flow.
To introduce the subject matters concerning water resources management, hydraulic and hydrogeological risk mitigation and electric energy production from renewable sources.
Course Structure
The course includes:
lectures, carried out in participatory mode, in order to obtain student involvement and content maturation;
guided exercises, aimed at the numerical application of the concepts and methods of analysis and

Attendance of Lessons
Class attendance is strongly recommended, coherently with the proposed educational model, aiming to promote a gradual learning, the active participation of students in class and the communication between the teacher and the students.

Learning Assessment
Learning Assessment Procedures
The final examination is made up with a written and an oral exam.
Two in progress written tests will be held, each of them covering approximately 50% of the course content, consisting of 10 questions for each test; every question will have a maximum score equal to 3. If a student will pass both tests (each with a minimum score of 15/30), he/she will have the possibility to access straight the oral exam.
