Expected Learning Outcomes

The aim of the course is to familiarize the students with the fundamental principles and main practices of purchasing management. The course delves into how organizations secure external resources, encompassing materials, services, works, and technology, both in the private and public sector. In particular, the course provides a focus on strategy, design, management and evaluation of procurement and sourcing activities.

Course Structure

The class will be conducted through a mix of frontsal lectures, case study discussion, simulations and guest lectures from academics and practitioners in the field of procurement.

Required Prerequisites

Fundamentals of microeconomics as learned in the first-year course Economia Applicata all'Ingegneria (concept of market, cost, price, concepts of market structures)
