GESTIONE DEI SISTEMI DI TRASPORTO

Academic Year 2022/2023 - Teacher: GIUSEPPE INTURRI

Expected Learning Outcomes

Provide the knowledge and skills needed to address the typical problems of Transport System Engineering and Management  with an approach based on the rationalization and optimization of resources.

To provide the ability to apply the knowledge and modelling tools learned in the perspective of the global management of a transport system, from the design and implementation of infrastructure to the management and operation of transport services.

Course Structure

Teaching takes place through a series of lectures, classroom exercises and in-depth seminars. A guided visit  of the Catania underground works will be carried out, based on the availability of the company responsible for the works.

Required Prerequisites

Basic knowledge of Mathematical Analysis and Physics

Attendance of Lessons

Attendance is not compulsory, however, it is highly recommended because it facilitates the learning path and the assessment of the student’s merit. Registration for the course is mandatory on the site studium.unict.it.

Learning Assessment

Learning Assessment Procedures

The exam takes place through a single test based on an oral interview to verify the theoretical and practical knowledge of the topics carried out during the course. In particular, it is necessary to demonstrate the ability to solve simple problems of calculating the flows of a transport network, of the mechanics of locomotion and of designing the fundamental characteristics of a collective transport line.

The assessment of the exam is based on the following criteria: level of knowledge of the required topics, expressive ability and language properties, ability to apply knowledge to simple case studies, ability to link the different themes of the teaching program.

Information for students with disabilities and/or DSA

To guarantee equal opportunities and in compliance with applicable laws, interested students may request a personal interview in order to schedule any compensatory and/or dispensative measures, according to teaching objectives and specific needs.
