  • Design of long members under combined flexural and axial loads by the moment magnifier method.

 

The course covers the design of reinforced concrete structural elements of a building. It introduces you to structural analysis techniques and their application in the structural design of concrete buildings. In addition the material properties of concrete and its use as a construction material are addressed.

This course builds on your knowledge of statics and structural mechanics and steel structures. You will learn to apply structural analysis tools such as computer software combined with self-checking procedures in designing concrete building structures according to Italian design practices code and processes. You will use these skills to analyse and design complex structures in later years of your program.
