
Alessandro ANCARANI
Alessandro Ancarani, Ph.D., is Full Professor of Business and Management Engineering at the University of Catania. He has been the department's delegate for internationalization since 2022. Since November 1, 2024, he has been president of the master's degree program in Management Engineering. Since 2024, he has been a member of the Board of Directors of the scientific association European Decision Science Institute (EDSI). He was Editor-in-chief of the Journal of Public Procurement, from 2018 to 2021. He was Editor of the Journal of Purchasing and Supply Management, from 2010 to 2015. He is a member of the Board of the European Journal of Public Procurement Markets. He was President of the Scientific Association International Purchasing Supply Education & Research Association (IPSERA) from 2009-2012, and member of the board of directors from 2008 to 2014. He was a founding member of EDSI in 2010. His research interests are related to the localization of manufacturing activities, public procurement, adoption of I4.0 technologies and digitalization of operations, analysis of soft factors of organizations (customer satisfaction, organizational climate, leadership, engagement; supplier evaluation), behavioral aspects in the operational activities of public and private companies. He is the author of publications in prestigious journals such as the British Journal of Management, International Business Review, International Journal of Production Economics, International Journal of Production & Operations Management, Social Science & Medicine, European Journal of Operational Research, International Journal of Production Research, and Journal of World Business.
