TECHNICAL ARCHITECTURE II AND LABORATORY A - L
Module TECHNICAL ARCHITECTURE II

Academic Year 2025/2026 - Teacher: Vincenzo SAPIENZA

Expected Learning Outcomes

MODULE BUILDING CONSTRUCTION II

The course aims to equip students with the tools needed to address and resolve typological, distributive, and technological issues underlying architectural design, particularly the design of the building and its surroundings. The analysis is both environmental and technological, addressing user needs. These needs are expressed in requirements and evaluated in terms of the performance of the technical elements that constitute and govern the built form. Lectures, laboratory work, and exercises will address the various issues of building design, from the building scale to the construction detail, with particular attention to mixed-use buildings (multi-family housing and tertiary activities), inclusive design, and environmental sustainability. The knowledge acquired during the course will enable students to adopt a design approach that is attentive to both the health and well-being of users, as well as to energy saving and the conscious consumption of resources, in accordance with Goals 3, 11, 12, and 13 of the 2030 Agenda.

During the course, a didactic module of digital architecture will be carried on, through the design of a pavilion in dry building technologies.

Course Structure

The attendance is mandatory. Students are asked to be present at least at 70% of lessons.
Professor let it self free to decide to verify the frequency of the students in the classroom.

Learning Assessment

Examples of frequently asked questions and / or exercises

Starting by the project realized during the course, the students will be asked to propone alternative solutions with different building technologies and building materials, among the subject of the lectures.
