HYDROLOGY AND CLIMATE CHANGE
Anno accademico 2024/2025 - Docente: Antonino CANCELLIERERisultati di apprendimento attesi
Specifically, the following SDGs of the 2030 agenda will be covered:
- Goal 6: substantially increase water-use efficiency across all sectors and ensure sustainable withdrawals and supply of freshwater to address water scarcity and substantially reduce the number of people suffering from water scarcity (6.4); protect and restore water-related ecosystems, including mountains, forests, wetlands, rivers, aquifers and lakes (6.6)
- Goal 13: Improve education, awareness-raising and human and institutional capacity on climate change mitigation, adaptation, impact reduction and early warning (13.3)
- Goal 11: Substantially increase the number of cities and human settlements adopting and implementing integrated policies and plans towards inclusion, resource efficiency, mitigation and adaptation to climate change, resilience to disasters, and develop and implement, in line with the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction 2015-2030, holistic disaster risk management at all levels (11.b)
- Goal 15: combat desertification, restore degraded land and soil, including land affected by desertification, drought and floods, and strive to achieve a land degradation-neutral world (15.3)
Modalità di svolgimento dell'insegnamento
he course mainly is composed by:
- lectures;
- guided applications, aimed at the practical application of the concepts and methods of most commonly used analysis and modeling of hydrology and related natural hazard mitigation;
- guided tour of the DICAR green roof, to illustrate concepts of hydrological monitoring.
