Alessandro CAMMARATA

Associate Professor of Applied mechanics [ING-IND/13]

Alessandro Cammarata graduated in Mechanical Engineering V.O. in 2004, with 110/110 marks and honors. In 2008 he obtained his Ph.D. in Structural Mechanics, with a thesis entitled "Dynamic study of the McGill Schönflies motion generator". In 2009 he was the winner of a research grant, in the ING-IND / 13 research sector, on a study entitled: "Large deployable reflectors in orbit" in collaboration with the Thales-Alenia Space company in Rome. In 2010 he received a research grant for the "Solar" research project. On November 1, 2011, he took up a position as a permanent researcher at the DIIM of the former Faculty of Engineering of the University of Catania in the ING-IND / 13 Mechanics Applied to Machines sector. Since 2016, he is a member of the DICAR of the University of Catania.

(2007 and 2009) visiting student at the CIM of McGill University in Montreal.
(2013) Scientific co-responsible for a research contract on behalf of third parties with the company EUROMECC Srl for the "Characterization of the kinematics of the planetary mixer for concrete production as the strength classes and consistency of the concrete to be produced vary, with particular reference to the realization of a project in the field of mechanics applied to machines. "
(2015) Scientific responsible for a research contract for third parties between the University of Catania and Thales Alenia Space Italia S.p.A.
(2016) Technical-scientific consultancy for the engineering of the patent of a dynamic sliding spherical seismic isolator owned by the company Inntech Srl.
(2017) he obtained the national scientific qualification as an associate professor.
(2018) from 2014 to 2018 he was the holder of the "Mechanical Engineering" course for the degree course (LM22) Chemical Engineering for Industrial Sustainability.
(2019) holds the course of study "Mechanics applied to machines and machines" for the degree course (LM23) Civil Engineering of Water and Transport.
He is the author and co-author of over 60 publications in national and international journals and conferences.
